The pass side header is fit, I can weld in the pipe in the left side of the pic, I can't weld in the #1 pipe until the exhaust is re-fit to the headers and we are ready to fire it up otherwise I can't feed the header in from the top. I have to polish the welds up a bit with a flap wheel before they get coated but luckily you can't see all but one of the joints anyway. The tape is where the center of the joints are....The last pipe was the one that was welded in, compound curves - took some time to fit that one....Good thing I have 7 years experience doing curved stairways..LOL...I can eyeball the curves and get a good fit...No wasted pipes/cuts yet.

I'm grinding them off a bit to make it pretty but most of them are hidden anyways..LOL...I started on the drivers side header last night - it's going to be a PITA....Less room but I have a plan, pics to come.

Is all this work worth the MAYBE 5HP you will get over a stock ported set of manifolds with 2 1/2 straight pipe? ??

did a lot of dyno work back in the day(early70s) and headers will get you much more than 5HP. we did a stone stock 68 Mustang 289/302 2 barrel 3 speed stick with Hooker headers,H pipe and 2" in place of the stock dual exhaust with glasspacks and after fixin the lean condition we caused with the new exhaust,we picked a little over 20 HP at the rear wheels and it came in pretty low in RPMs. no other mods cept for a 2 degree timing bump. with collector length and diameter.runner diameter and length you can move the HP and torque around in the RPM range that will suite your needs.the more mods you make the more headers really help.

I'm not sure which mounts they are, they were in the car when I got it...The 289 that was in the car was from a 65 Fairlane wagon so maybe that's where they came from....Headers and manifolds are night and day when it comes to HP.....Not even close. I haven't touched the car for 2 months, I hope to start tinkering with it next month to hear it rumble on the dyno this summer. The plan is to break it in, dyno/tune it and then pull it for final detail and paint.

I'd sell the extra set of complete stock mounts for the same price as the Crites mounts.

I don't have any to sell, I'm re-using the stock 289 mounts on the 351w, it's a bolt in deal.

For those who care: The 302 hooker headers are now re-worked and fit on my 357W , they are ready to be bolted up to the spare 351W to fit the dual exhaust back on. I will polish up the welds some more when I get them ready to send out for new ceramic coating. I'm ordering hydraulic clutch conversion parts tommorow for the T5, I will finish the Yukon 9" posi rearend and exhaust this week so when the clutch crap show's up we will be ready for it....I should have the engine set in the car in the next 2 weeks if all goes well. I want to be smoking the tires within 30 days as my f-inlaws health is deteriorating faster and faster all the time. I want to take him for a rip before he isn't able to handle being pinned in the seat anymore. Once we feel everything out we can take it apart to paint the engine bay, iron out the fine details and etc.

The shop finished mod'ing my Hedman long tubes to fit with Fatman Coil overs/rack & pinion. Only mod was 1 tube that had to curve around the new steering shaft, before we sent em off for Jet hot coating, the shop added an 02 bung in the right side collector, so, when i add EFI or just use a air/fuel meter i won;t have to screw up the pretty coating to add an 02 sensor. Just something to think about
