I used my original six cylinder radiator and had Performance Radiator make it into a thrree row plus they moved the lower port to the other side. Check for interchange sizes and go to the Performance website. They have the 66 Mustang 3 row for 145 bucks with two day UPS included. www.performanceradiator.com

W2, when looking into the engine bay, is your bottom rad hose for the V8 on the right? I fab'd in a 3 row mustang radiator and the lower hose is tight where i connected it to the waterpump. when i got the car it had a flexhose and i didnt know what lower hose to buy so i bought another flex hose. it works, but i would like to use a fomoco or gates hose. what are you using? ken-

Mr S33
The bottom hose is on the driver side in my car. The numbers printed on the hose before the Made in USA are: 9D14 EBP D1 80MH50
It has a black plastic mesh cover on about two-thirds of it. Not sure what that is for except for rock or thrown belt protection.

Also, you can change the front dress on the engine and use the original pump cover and such. The oil breather won't go into the block though. You would need the new harmonic balancer with three holes and pulley to match but at least you could still retain the passenger side lower hose. My 70 Mustang had an early engine in it and I used a pair of molded 90* hoses and a piece of exhaust tubing to bridge one side to the other. That was waay back.

I did this in one of my meteors and I simply used a rad out of a maverick or comet the same year as the water pump. a little bigger but it will work.

If you want a heavy duty 3 core that fits PERFECTLY, use a Modine 2303. My boyfriend manages a huge parts warehouse and we keep finding things that just bolt on with no problems. The core is wider than stock as well as being 3 cores of the narrow high efficiency design, while the mounting brackets remain the same. The top 2 bolts go in the factory support holes, we scribed and drilled the lowers about an inch or so higher than stock to use holes supplied in the rad. This rad has the lower hose on the pass side so will work with the older style water pumps. If you are converting to the driver side later 302 pump style have the neck moved by a rad shop. That's what I did as I wanted to use the later cover, pump and brackets that came with my 302. NOTE! Don't try crossing this to SPI or another brand as they cross it to a reg 2 core part number.

Got any more part numbers for upgrades on the 62-63 Meteor's....I'll post them on my website. Everyone looks for a rad upgrade, but having an actual part number that fits is worth it's weight in gold.
