MOOG Thermoplastic Hi-Perf stabilizer link kits. Moog nbr K6630. If you want the TP frame bushings for 11/16 bar Moog nbr K7322. Add these to the K8042 new idler arm bushing kits (std strg) I mentioned before and it's BETTER than Ford made it.

I know your in the parts business or is it your hubby?...anyways, can you find any listings for the rear leaf spring bushings, mostly I'd like to replace the bushings on the front end of the springs. I haven't been able to find any listings for 5 years.

It's hubby in the business. I've asked him to check it out and we'll get back to you. He has a 58 Meteor (Canadian Ford) with a big FE and 2 four barrels with a 4-speed. That's why I had to swap in the hot 302 just to keep up with him on rod runs. Ha, ha.

I had to swap in my 9" truck diff after I blew the 8" stocker up on the very first run down the 1/4 mile after I drove 1.5 hours each way just to race.

Are you looking for the round spring eye bushings or those goofy block things?

Stu You lookin to get the Polygraphite or rubber spring eye bushings? I got mine from Energy Suspension.
Meteor girl, the squishies block looking things are supposed to be clamped between the axle saddle and the leaf spring. Not desirable for performance since the chassis will react slowly. They are necessary for stock restoration though.

Whoops! Forgot about that Stu, I musta slept since then. If you pull the existing bushings and measure them then you should be able to order the ones to fit. I have dealt with the guys that make the poly bushings for some specific durometer poly rollers for my old shop equipment. They could at least tell you what to order from a retailer. Custom chunks of polyurethane can be machined if you use water for lube on those custom pieces.

Ok, this is pretty confusing. In my 1963 shop manual it shows the front and rear shackle bushings for a 1962 METEOR as C2YY-5781-A, FAIRLANES F & R as C20Z-5781-A. Even the leaf springs are different numbers for Meteor and Fairlane. NOW, go to 1963 and the illustration shows the front bushings seperately as C2YY-5781-C (which should be a replacement for the A's) BUT it only shows the rears as a complete shackle kit C2YY-5630-B which is a Meteor prefix number. Interestingly, the shackle kit shown for all 62 Met & Flane is C20Z-5630-A which is a Fairlane prefix number. Confused yet? Hubby has found a Moog number K8785 listed as rear uppers(? says it takes 4) for 62-63 Meteor but he doesn't have a set on hand at the moment and secondly my car is at the paint shop so we can't measure them up. If anyone has a set out and can give us measurements, we will go through every TRW and MOOG box and see if we can match them up. That's the best I can do for now but we'll keep trying. We're going to the club shop tomorrow to work on a 57 Ranchero and we have some older catalogues there. I'll see what they say.
I have the 2 pages from my manual scanned that I can email anyone that would like to see this first hand.

The Fairlane has the itty bitty bushings back on the shackle end and they are the same top and bottom at about 1" diameter. The front eye on the Fairlane is referred to as a "Berlin" eye and is centered on the leaf as well as being about 2" diameter.
Aren't the Meteor bushings the same front and rear except for the extra bizarro block?
There are urethane producers just about everywhere. What you need is about a Shore A 81 durometer chunk for performance or S.A.sixty for somewhat stiff in the comfort zone.
I emailed you a chart that will give you an idea of what to order.

Nope both ends are not the same size, as far as I know the fairlane and meteor use the same shackles/bushings, I ordered mine for a 63 fairlane and they fit.

OK, we just got in from the club shop. The old TRW catalogue is out but the guy that has it will bring it on Monday. Another guy has an actual Ford shop manual for 1963 Fairlane & Meteor and he'll bring that on Monday too. Hubby is out visiting some of his stores tomorrow and will look for an old catalogue. Either way I will post more info tomorrow. He did confirm that the Moog K8785 is for the rear spring/shcakle on both makes so this jives with the info that they are interchangeable at the back end of the spring.
Anyone that wants scans of my shop manual pages on the rear suspensions, just email me and I'll be happy to send them.
