well the new dana 60 is going to measure 57.375 (axle flange to axle flange)
Housing flange to Housing flange is 52.375
housing end to housing end is 47.375 (without ends on the thing)
Does this sound right to you guys?

forget i asked that!!! you couldn't use a couple inches skinnier with you tires/wheels. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IS TRIM THE SHEETMETAL FROM THE FRONT PART OF THE LOWER PART OF THE WHEELWELL WHERE YOUR TIRES HAVE BEEN RUBBIN

I'm going to drop it off at the sandblasting shop tomorrow. The ends have not been welded on yet. I'll try to have some pics of it tomorrow.
One tube is shorter than the other because the pinion on a Dana 60 is off set a half inch towards the passenger side of the car.
the driver side tire is rubbing just a tiny tiny bit. We are going to shift the whole rear-end to the driver side about a 1/16 or so. We will do that when we weld in the spring perches. Then we will try and trim up the wheel well a bit. That will solve my problem. The passenger side back tire is rub free.

just take a look at the part i'm talkin about and trim it just to be on the safe side. that whole lip on the inside of the wheelwell where the frame/body meet looks a disaster waitin to happen on a fat bodied tire, specially with leaf springs.. i was lookin under mine today(without you askin me to ;D) and the factory should have at least rolled that area a lil bit.

Do your measuring on the 8" from axle flange to axle flange where the wheels bolts on and transfer that measurement to the Dana with axles. The Ford axle protrusion from the housing is 2.5" on some and different on others.
