For any of you that think I only beeyotch about health care or lack of it........... In my spare time I do the occasional project that appeals to me. My main problem with fuel injection is it looks like somebody's Corvette underhood or like a carbureter or like Ford melted a large mass of aluminum and spooged it over the top of a perfectly good looking engine without a care for how it looks. I decided to clean out my garage recently and so far the cleanup has netted me over 700 bucks on ebay so I sprung for a gt40 injection setup just fer giggles. Actually I only bought it for the GT40p heads but it seemed a waste to sell the injection stuff. I am selling the upper butt-ugly intake plenum and decided to build my own to replace it. It will have stacks that will end in an oval air cleaner looking plenum and the rest of the goodies will be off to one side inside some duct work like that found on 64 Thunderbolts. Cut the velocity stacks today. Limited headroom under a stock 64 hood ya know. Presently laying out the lower plate for the upper plenum. Have to score some time on my buddy's Bridgeport here shortly. Good news too, my brother calls up last night and spews on about the new welder he is buying. He is setting up for aluminum of all things. The timing is perfect I tell you!

Remember now guys that these are only intake runners and the EFI throttle body has to be plumbed in there off to one side. If I had a lot of hood clearance or no hood, I could definitely hide a Throttle body in the nest of snakes somewhere.

Roy, I'll keep that in mind. This is the kind of project that I really like since it takes up time and a little thought and the rest of the injection system will still work fine.
Only shortcoming on this is I may lose a little bottom end from shorter runners than stock. On the flip side, it would all come back in the upper rpms. I can easily envision building all the plumbing into a large scoop for the rat rod crowd too.

Funny, you mention Can-Am cars, it was big block chevys in Chaparrels against big block or dual torbo;d Fords against exotic Euro stuff, Amazing stuff, the ground shook when they went by on warm up lap, , i will always remember that! I was just looking at a Ford big block powered CanAm car at Horst Kroll's, the guy who won the last Can-Am races, intake snakes very similiar!

I blame my brother for infecting me with the gear-head disease. He was a corner monitor at road races in the early to mid fifties and had to baby-squat me. He plopped me down trackside where I could hear see and feel the Ferraris at full song at the end of the straight downshifting for the turn. Headers, induction and burnt rubber light up my senses.

Been real busy ebayin and burying. Lost an old racer last week and had a really nice sendoff. Richard Rogers drove just about anything and everything and even won multiple races in multiple cars on the same day. He built the first purpose built drag strip in the Northwest. and ran it for about five years. Racing all the while too. He raced BB/F, AA/G and anything else that went faster than the other guy. The sendoff consisted of firing up a couple old dragsters and letting the ballons go up in the blast from the zoomies. They cranked up the AA/G twin blown hemi for some serious cackle and rumpa rumpa! One of the Canadians in attendance said it best, shortly after meeting Walt and Rich, I was driving their push truck and when the fuel hit me in the face............ well, I ain't never been right since.......
