Wow, that's great. What color is the tin painted? Did you have any work done to it? I've seen the hood insulation on ebay, is that where you bought yours?

Hey Rob
Yes we got the insulation off ebay from a place called Ballasks. Great price!!!!!!
Uh by the tin, you mean the cap on the valve cover........that is black. The picture is crappy, the guy clear coated the breather and cover and cap.
Yes there was some minor work done, by a custom battery holder as the plate was gone. Oil sending unit, soft plug, new radiator hose, just a few small things that make a big difference. He painted the fenders that the hood covered and we had him repaint the skirts to an exact match. He took off the entire heater plenum and removed the giant critter nest............the heater works like a charm now and no odor at all. He put on the replacement gunsight, gee so many small things and he only charged us $1500.00. The other guy was going to charge us the same price and only clean and paint the engine and compartment.
The engine and compartment looks so beautiful and there is no place to go and show it at this time of the year ....... and as you know we dont go in the rain and snow.
The hood insulation cost us I think $43 with the shipping.
I am still looking for a replacement trunk pad, although ours is still pretty good, but somewhat stained.
Oh and by the way, from the research I did, the 8cyl engine for that year was in fact gold.

Engine colors differed by car line, but suffice to say, I'm too late for the discussion.
