For those who may not be aware - the Monte Carlo bar for early Mustang/Falcon/Comet are designed to bolt to the two bolts that mount the fender to the inner fender (the 2 bolts shown near the bracket mod shown) , which position the MC Bar just forward of the carburetor. 6 cyl. apps are straight across, while v8 apps have the arc across the front of the carb. Also, Mustang bar lengths are not the same as Falcon/Comet, but bolt holes for mounting are the same spacing.

the one that stormeaston has above is a tad short. would help if those mounts were boxed on the ends at least.

the one that stormeaston has above is a tad short. would help if those mounts were boxed on the ends at least. What I did was weld two triangle braces about a half inch in on both ends. So it is boxed or at least alot stronger than just the thickness of the metal. I do agree I have to "clean up" the ends to make it look better, but this was just kind of an experiment.

Not bad!
I have the same type Monte Carlo bar, and was going to cut it in the middle and add tubing to it to make it longer. But your idea seems a lot cleaner.

Add pipe to each end. You can get chrome molly and add it to where the bar slides inside the pipe extensions and then use a spring clip through a hole to hold it in place.

I have a 64 Ranchero converted by previous owner to disc brakes, & the master cylinder is under the engine braces - very nearly impossible to remove cap to fill or check brake fluid level.
Will this Monte Carlo bar enable me to remove the factory engine braces hiding my master cylinder & keep the stability on this unibody Falcon? It is a dual reservoir master cylinder. thanxxxxxx
