i spent last weekend stripping all paint from engine bay with chemical stripper. now i got a mini da sander that works great with 3 inch sandpaper.150 grit, all hardware has been removed.this is a dreadfull way to spend a weekend, but when im finished it will have correct shade of black enamel paint and all apron and fender bolts will be treated with black oxide from eastwood.i have to bead blast all bolts then put them in crock pot heated to 190 degrees for ten minutes, then soak in wd40 then clean off residue, they look great when done just like factory. i guess i got to cut the shock towers rib out for 351. i look at some of the club members cars here and it keeps me going. i have been restoring a 69 camero for 2 and a half years and let me tell you the meteor is a much easier car to work on. ford people are a much different breed of people. they dont make many aftermarket parts for meteors and the quest for part hunting becomes fun.looking on craigs list every nite and ebay.ther wife has had it with me.i think the rear of meteor body is beautifull but the front end looks like a 65 rambler. o well i better get some sleep so i can get this firewall engine bay finished! pete sanjuan capistrano cal 63 meteor hardtop soon to be hot rod!
