We weathered the financial and housing bubble since we bought low and held. Now the construction guys are hungry for work and materials are relatively low. Demolition is somewhat expensive and my local voc-school firefighter program can use the experience as well as the local volunteers (I used to be asst chief) can use some hose time too. I donated my house and paid the instructors. Enjoy, everyone else did. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy8K7XdOg7c&feature=player_embedded

d**n! I bet your neighbours just love you! With the clean up & all was it still cheaper to have this small fire? I'm assuming there was no good beams or any other materials that would've offset the demo guys costs? A couple of years ago, i wanted to demo an old delapidated barn out back, but, no way would local council even think about letting me burn it down, & my closeset neighbour is like an acre away from the barn. Luckily, there were about 10 really good oak, pine beans in the structure & 1 12" x 12" black walnut beam, about 21' long that really help offset the demo costs You wouldn;t believe what i was offered for the Walnut beam!

There wasn't much of anything that hadn't been buggered over the years by past "remodels". Savings of a couple thousand bucks.
If I had the time, I would have demolished it myself and sold off some of the wood but with the price of dump fees, it would have been expensive.
