Hi, I'm new here, and let me say that if I had this wealth of info back in the '90s I'd have created my masterpeice by now. I have been away from towm for about ten years and am finally looking at my grad car again. Wow. It made the mice very happy. My goal for the spring was rolling and running. I would throw up some pics but I can't seem to figure out how. Instructions would be great. Rusty

OK. Got some photos of Project "Rusty Nuts" to post. I'll write a bit about the history of this car a bit later. Nice to have the tarp off after all these years. 1962 Mercury Meteor. S33 260V8. 2 speed Merc-o-matic. Ford 8 rear end. Numbers matching but rusty as all hell. I took most of the chrome and interior off and out and stored it years ago. Dug out the instructions. I needed an excuse for a new carb. Intake too by the look of things. A little cleaner. The butterflies don't even rotate. So nice to have this forum as a resource. Bottoms up to those who stsrted it.

I Bought this car for $135 in '91 the year I graduated. It ran but had only the hand brake to get home with. Drove it all summer that year and part of the next. Then I re-re the motor and trans. Motor works great. The trans not so well. Gonna have t freshen it up some.
Put about 5 grand into her back then. you wouldnt know it to see her now. Has a comp cam. new front susp although feels like I need some new rod ends. new untrol arm bushings, new lowers arms, new higher compression pistons, milled the heads for more compression. All new valve train.
Think I'm gonna pull the starter today and get it working.
Should'nt have left it in the rain all these years.
Anyone else on the forum live in British Columbia?
