Wow! I'm not sure what to say.
I am new here and this site has breathed fresh air into a project left behind in my youth but that I always new I would revisit when my skills and paycheck could accomodate.
I do like to new car. Very stout. Is there no room for both cars in the garage?

No room or dough for both, I have an interested buyer coming to look at the Merc tomorrow after work....If I can't sell it as is I will finish it this winter and put the price up with a new appraisal....the Cobra is sweet, I can't drive it enough.

The Merc is tentetivley sold pending the deposit tomorrow, the buyer came to see it twice before he made a good decision to buy her. ....I'll be sad to see her go but at the same time I did save her from a rusty death so there is comfort in that....And the black 2001 Cobra sitting in my garage helps too. ;D

SOLD, he paid for it today and hopes to drive her home tomorrow - weather pending...It's going to a good home and to an owner who is excited to have it...We will be staying in touch for visitation rights....LOL

Stu, I too have had thoughts on selling for a newer ride, and it would be a 03 - 04 cobra in black, but after all the work I've done on my meteor I can't part with it unless the money offer was silly. Yet, i see all your points and support your decision. I do want to thank you for all the advice recently and in the past. Even though my status is new member, i remember when you set up the hot rod and performance part of this site and that was a driving factor in me finishing this car back in 2000. (lost my password, garaged the merc and built an 87 mustang). But the mustang got old, saw too many on the road, and now it is a stress reliever to tune my 500 cfm 2 brl and go for a rip after a tough day. I wish the best to you and hope the new owner understands how much of yourself you put into that car. take care.

d**n Stu, really loved coming to this site & gleaned allot of useful info & met some nice people too, and sorry you had to let the Meteor go, you gonna miss her! But, i know what you mean re- modern power! I too ran across a deal i couldn;t pass up, wasn;t looking for this car but, it was such an odd duck (1 of 102 made) & as far as i know the only one in Ontario, Canada. Seems the late model GTO didn;t pass our stringent safety requirements when they came out in 04, so Pontiac just ignored Canada, not having that many shipped from Holden in Austrailia anyway. the re-badged 06 Holden Morano, with minor tinkering, meets our safely laws for 06 & my accountant brought this one from an estate sale he was looking after in Florida, the late owner had a 64GTO, 70 Judge & the 06GTO. One drive & i knew, even tho it wasn;t a Ford, i had to have it! Holden messed with the LS-2 to make 400+ HP & tucked Z06 suspension under it, including the IRS rear, unbelieveable cornering, air & all the modern ammenities, Best of both worlds, eh. Nothing like low 12 sec. passes with the air on! Enjoy the Cobra!

I told him about the site, I think he will poke around here before too long...He drove the car home this morning...I haven't heard from him yet to see if he made it home ok....Lovin' the cobra, I have a 95 lincoln MVII to check out this weekend - might have the italian cast Teskid engine block so it's worth looking at.

My buddy has an 01, i don;t know why people rag on the IRS equipped stangs, it handles incredibly well.
He picked up that all aluminum 4.6 mill from a local yard here, did nothing but check the mains, installed the blower(Kenne Bell) & bolted it in, took him all of a weekend. The only changes he did make were bigger injectors & believe me, its very, very quick!

I bought the lincoln, the early aluminum 32V blocks were cast by Teskid in Italy, mine is a ford aluminum block which is good too but not a strong as the Teskid block. I plan to keep the engine and trans, if I never build a blower engine for my cobra then this will be the power plant for my next project wether it be a classic Ford or a drag car. $800 is the price for the whole car, I hope to part out the rest to make most if not all my $800 back. I love the IRS, handles the road really nice. I might put some headers on the cobra and new bushings in the IRS but that will probably be it as I want to keep it for a fun street ride to enjoy in the summer....I would like to build something to drag in the future.

Just what i did, picked up the peddlers IRS poly kit & although its a bity stiffer, the enhanced handling is worth it. I do have the diablo tuner too, but, i'm hestitant to start messing with the tune, computer tuning is black magic to me. Benny, my buddy with the Cobra got all exicited when i mentioned you had the Teskid block, started making engine noises!
