Nice Mustang, but, i could stare at the Flatty all day, your 37 is going to be such a nice cruiser & when your ready to sell it let me know ,eh Or tradezzees, i'm either going to do the GTO up or focus on the Fairlane & get me a 30's 40-'s Ford. My first car, well, real car, was a 38 Ford, got it from Ford dealer who bought it for his son, who in turn showed absolutely no interest so Dad sold it to me, along with 2 nos rear fenders & 2 front fenders & nos hood side panels, even tho the fenders on the car were solid. With a 49 Merc Flatty i installed that car just hummed along, although she overheated at even the hint of a red light. At the time, the "look" was gasser style frontend hi in the air, u know? Being in hi-school i had no money so to get that look, i simply cut 2 pieces of 2x4 & wedged em between the straight axle & frame! i know, i know! & i drove her like that, until i got pulled over, our local cop (driving a Sudebaker lark V-8) gave me more crap for that mod than having no insurance & ordered me to pull the 2x4's or next time he;d tow my beloved 38! Sorry, i didn;t mean to go back in time here, but, oh, the 38 haunts me to this day. What did i sell her for including all the extra parts? I;m to embarresed to write it here!

Just to cool for school! I saw an article over at fordmuscle saying - someone is reproducing complete 40;s Ford coupe bodies sanctioned by Ford too I have no idea if there off shore or Am. made but the pic.sure looked cool, i;ve heard the bare body will be around 9500. bucks. I;m looking into this. Yes, getting very hard to find one, at least one not already done to the 9;s & asking 40K for it. I;m out in Penticton BC right now & there is a guy here who has a huge collection of Fords, like 100;s of them. Going to try & make contact with him while i;m here, u never know,eh! Advance weights, you mean those weird shaped littrle cams, that whirl around the distro shaft? I have a couple of old distros at home, i will dig out those if you really need em. Off 289 or early 302's if i recall

If you exhaust your search for those early springs, let me know I have a buddy who is a 260-289 freak & i;m sure he would give me a few springs to send you, but, they can;t be that hard to find,eh lemme know. I;ve found a 38 Ford -302, Mustang rack & pinion but, stock front axle? hmm, 8", front disc brakes, boxed frame, got a Chassis Eng. rear leaf suspension conversion that seems pretty cool Has a Cadillac interior which is to "fat" for me, all white vynil, big fat buckets, but, other than the interior he did a very nice job of building it. Only pics so far, will go & look it over asap Asking around 19k I may even offer up my 08 GTO for an equal value trade - 37-39 Ford, would have to be very nice though I just keep staring at your pics!

How do I tell if I have the early springs, I have a handful but, from which sm.block I don't know did you solve your Geny mounting issues? There is a Flathead guy in the next town over, Dale Farren has been into Flatties, or Flatty's since they were introduced, if you need some specific parts, like Geny mount I can ask Dale if you get stuck. Do let us know how its going,eh
