I have a couple of 63 S33's & am considering a 65 Ranchero already converted to manual (not power) discs. The falcons are plagued by location of Master cylinder on most swaps, including the on I am considering. The Master Cylinder sits right under the shock tower to firewall brace which is an integral, welded in portion of the Un-ibody & should not lightly be removed. My question is: Is there an improvement without starting all over to easily relocate the Master Cylinder? I thought perhaps a power booster if it would fit against the fire-wall might extend the Master Cylinder. Any body familiar with this situation with a possible "fix" for a guy with limited mechanical abilities & finances? I have some of both - - but compared to many of you....thanxxxx

A power booster would extend the MC, your right but, wouldn't extending it put the MC right into the shock tower, even more! I'm assuming the Falcon is like the Fairlanes, not much room for power boosters. When I bought my first 62, it did have a p.booster with the single "jam jar" MC, but it was angled up high to clear the tower, so much so, it almost hit the hood when closed. When I did add 4 wheel disc brakes, I found a booster from a Mustang 11, & the MC from a late model Mustang,(aluminum MC you see em on all years of stangs/fords) did mount easily & cleared the F;lanes tower. But, not knowing the Falcon, maybe the distance from firewall to tower is even tighter. Relocating the MC, would moving it inwards, towards the inner fender help in adding a booster? Maybe easier to cut the firewall to tower braces right off & relocate them instead? I guess I should look at some pics. before I go offering solutions, eh

The Rancheroo should accept a 65 Mustang booster since they are very similar dimensions under hood. Certainly worth a shot, maybe check with one of the Ranchero forums and see what they do.

Update. Running scarebird kit with front discs and drums in the back. All fitting under 14" wheels. Also went dual diaphram master with no booster and all feels great. Stops fine, pedal pressure is fine.
