Hey there! i am gonna convert to front discs in the next few months. Dont have the skills for a Granada conversion so was hoping to get something easier like a Scarebird kit. Went to online site yesterday and they have a 63-69 Fairlane/Montego kit but no meteor and no 62' stuff at all. Is the 62" spindle really different from the 63'? Does anyone have any experience with this kit for a 62' or have suggestions for another? --I am not a machinist but love to grind things! so i cant get too fancy with modifications. many thanks in advance!

zero difference in the spindles for Meteor 62-63 and Fairlane 62-65. Check out this guy. His kit is on a buddy's 65. My buddy is no mechanic, just a replace-a-part guy and only had some trouble with a cheap double flare tool for the little bit of actual fabrication on the whole job. You'll have to source your own master cylinder but they are cheap and available most anywhere. www.discbrakeswap.com/parts/parts#swap1

scarebird kit was painless and worked great. I just installed it on my 63 Fits under stock wheels too which is great for the style im going for. I also running a non power dual master cylinder. Found a proportioning valve at the yard off a Grenada and fabbed up two lines from there to master and the rest was bolt on pretty much. Only had to grind on the calipers a little(simple) Cheapest way to go for new disc brakes vs Grenada way. I did the Toyota Previa calipers, caddy lines, Chevy Celebrity calipers and pads. All went smooth.

I am curious. If running with 4 wheel disc what does it take to make it Anti-loc, & is that a good or a bad idea?

good idea but difficult to do without transplanting a whole antilock system.
