I am considering replacing a 5 bolt 289 with a - I imagine - 6 bolt 351W. I am wondering if I am going to run into surprises or difficulties. I am planning on swapping the engine AND transmission as a unit. Donor car 67 Cougar, recipient car either a 65 Comet wagon or a 64 Fairlane wagon both with factory V8's (comet 289); Fairlane 260. ALSO, I have heard that the 351W heads are problematical in the Falcon/Comet in that the heads require notching the shock towers??? Will the bell housing from a 351W easily work on a 6 bolt 289 or 302?
Separately from donor 67 cougar will the disc brakes be as easy a conversion as the granada? Or not a lot harder? reason is I have the cougar so don't need much of a "budget"

The Falcon/Comet shock towers will have interference. The Fairlane can actually accommodate the 351 without mods but the exhaust routing can be challenging. The 351 and 302 share a common bell.
