I have a couple of factory V8 station wagons, a 65 Comet & a 64 Fairlane. I am buying a 67 cougar for parts & am wondering if swapping the disc brakes from the cougar to either of these wagons is as easy & as good as the granada swap. Obvious reason for prefering Cougar swap is I will own the parts from day 1. Same question shoud I decide to put the brakes in my 63 Meteor S33?

Meteor and Fairlane of those years share the same spindle. Check the interchange on those brakes to 66 mustang and if it fits, it will fit the other cars. It would be a better match to the front end than the Granada swap.

I am not sure that 67 - even Mustangs - interchange with 65 or 66 Mustangs as the 67's (& cougars) are bigger cars all together. So, does anybody know for sure 67 Cougar Disk Brakes to either 65 Comet (wagon) or to 64 Fairlane (wagon)?? thanxxx

Do not know about the Cougar swap. I used the disc setup from a 68 Fairlane and everything just bolted in, spindles and tie rods lined up perfectly. It was an easy swap. Cougar spindles may well be a good swap

Thanks, I think if 68 Fairlane works 67 Cougar would. BUT what car received the 68 Fairlane brakes - mine is a 65 Comet Wagon.

The Meteor is the same as fairlane for sure, & is a larger car than the 65 Comet Wagon (or other 65 Comet's)si I am still not sure about the swap. I do believe both falcon/comet and S33/Fairlanes use the granada swap, so would guess (but guessing is not good enough) that if the Cougar swap worked in an S33 it should in a Comet. thanxxxxxx
