the motors got a lil 2bbl holley and an aluminum radiator for a late 60s mustang cuz it was about the right dimensions. the original was plugged and eventually the solder also broke and it fell out of its brackets and took a ride into the fan blade and completley ripped out top half of one of the rows shes undergoing surgery right now, its been parked all winter, a cold one, and popped both head gaskets on the rear cylinders, so since there was also a tick, its gettin new lifters and much needed valve seals. one day its gonna get a 302 with a c4, but imma run the original till the tranny goes or i throw a rod thru the block. its only got 47 k, i beleive, expecially after seeing the lack of sludge under the intake manifold, it was crashed in front and repaired and then left to sit and then me and my dad got it when i was 15, it sat till about 4 years ago when i finally registerd it, it was a new york car that was last registerd in 84, interior was mint when i got it, except for broken straps in the seats, had a mouse problem, over the 10k i put on it the dried out dash started to crack and my dog broke the plastic piece that holds the horn ring to the wheel. the only wear on the brake pedal and gas pedal is from me, looked untouched when i got it, i kinda slide my foot off the brake so it wore. im gonna clean as i piece the motor back together and then remove all the trim and sand it down, not care about dents because there arent any and fix the quarter sized rot holes in the fenders before they get huge, and try and find new window seals for the doors and clean the insides out so they dont rot out, it is amazingly rust free for being a new york car, and being in ct for the past 20 or so years

That will keep you off the streets and busy for a while I've developed a love for these Mercs since my daughter talked me into buying the project in boxes and having to trailer it 90 miles home, in Southern California traffic. I got a LOT of help when I started putting it together from Stu, w2zero, Arie and Stella62 and a couple of others, right here on this site as well as it's old(before 2004) site. There are a couple of strange things on these cars and it helps to have car freaks like these guys that have "been there, done that". Arie use to build Meteors at the factory when they were new. A lot of new people here that have learned by experience, to help now too. Be sure to list parts you may need in the "Parts For Sale/Wanted" section and somebody will probly have or know where those parts can be had. Be sure to tell your location(rough idea) as sellers and buyers both want to figger the shipping costs that may be involved, as early as possible. Shipping across the country will nix the deal sometimes.
