I have a 63 Ranchero V8 conversion (260), and a stock 65 Comet wagon, 289. I just installed a 66 "A" code 289 in the wagon & want to add dual exhaust. I have 3 drivers side manifolds. All have interference, one hits column shift linkage (automatic C4) another interferes with under the car steering & third is too thick. So, I crawled under my 63 Ranchero for a look at it's dual exhaust (no power steering)& solved my huge turning radius problem on that car - - manifold (actually exhaust pipe from manifold) interferes with steering under car on this car too.
Anybody had this problem & solved it - preferably without headers, but ...? How??? I hate to give up power steering or going to a floor shifter on the 65 Wagon - - 63 Ranchero has floor shifter. direct emails are helpful perhaps with a parts number for right drivers exhaust manifold, or picture or just explanation of what I need to do. My email is 1953merc@comcast.net thanxxxx
