hey guys,
just about at that point where i put headers on my rebuilt 302'. Anyone know of a brand that clears the power steering setup? I am running a re-built 68' setup, the kind with integral resevoir. (skinny fill tube)
I looked at Dougs Headers and they have a 62' Mercury setup but the specs say not for power steering. (i sent dougs an email asking advice also)
thanks for your help as always.

I have same question except I want drivers side manifold - NOT headers. The ones I ave either interfere with the Power Steering, or the column shifter & I do not want a floor shifter - mine is a 65 Merc Comet Station Wagon, with 66 A code engine & C4 tranny.

Looks like i am just going to make things easy on myself and go with a pair of hi-po manifolds. After alot of reading up in mustang forums i heard the hp is neglible with headers vs. manifolds unless you are doing performance driving.

Before you spend the $$$ see if they will work with COLUMN shifter, I think not. Mustangs have floor shifter. On my 65 Comet they interfere with the column shifter.

I am using the GT40X heads and was told by Ford racing and Hooker that they would work. I haven't bought them yet but just about ready to.
