I'm looking to add a booster for my disc/drum 63 meteor. Has anyone used a 65 Mustang booster as advertised in Summitt Racing? I'm concerned about the pattern of the mounting studs to the firewall fitment. Also, some reviews suggested that the 67 Mustang M/C (which I currently have) mounting may require some adjustment to the two bolt holes where the MC meets up with this booster for this listed booster. It lists a 1.125" bore for their attached M/C in this kit.

Just make sure that there is clearance for the Mustang booster, it make have interference from the shock tower brace. I was going to try the 67 Mustang assy and found there was no way of using it without major alterations

arie Thanks for the response. I got some rough measurements of pics on both sites I looked at, and calculated them to the actual length of the MC. Summitt's total length of MC + Booster from rough pic calculation totals +/- 10" from firewall surface to end of MC. Parts Geek's like calculation totals +/- 9.75". Both Boosters measure 7" dia., and Summitt lists MC bore 1.125". My only question now is if the 4 mounting studs pattern on Booster equal to our Meteor 4 mounting hole pattern in the firewall. I bought a 67 Mustang MC/Booster some time ago, thinking it would be a fit, but would require modification of the shock tower - about 1 1/2 inches too long firewall to shock tower. Should be a decent fit for MII front end. I got that from Rock Auto. They also advertise one for 63-64 Fairlane, and claim it to fit 61-63 Meteor. I received it, and it doesn't fit, so I'm waiting for my returned refund. Mounting bolt pattern is different from that in our firewalls.

I have received and installed the Parts Geek 65 Mustang unit, and need to do some adjustments to the (adjustable) pedal linkage rod from the kit. Also, probably need to re-bleed all around. This kit provides two brackets that mount between the booster and the firewall for clearance alignment (offset patterns), and the mechanic who mounted the unit made a "gash" in the shock tower for better clearance of the forward mounted brake line, and the bail for the MC cover. The price for the unit was about $165 shipped. Being in farm country, I'm at the availability of the mechanic to finish the needed adjustments, after his commitments to farm equipment. BTW, my brake light switch is of the Ford 150 type, so doesn't enter into the fitment of the unit. Hope this is useful information to others who may want to do this conversion.
