I was reading Stu's piece on the 5.0 swap. He talked about swapping out the EFI to go carburated. Here's the quote-
"It was an easy swap and the only real change that was needed was to have the emissions pipe that ran between the rear of each cylinder head eliminated. I took the heads to my local machine shop and had the holes in each head properly threaded and plugged."
Was this for the efi/carb swap or for the EGR? I know that I need to change out the stock intake manifold, but I'm sure that there are other "smog" issues that need dealing with. What else should I be looking for. I wondering if some of my performance issues are because half of the EGR stuff is gone and the other half is limping along causing problems.

Look at your heads in front and you should see a bolt hole on each that has an extra insert. That's a plug to stop up the egr hole and allow it to mount accessories. Each head should have one if it is an egr equipped car. You can get the plugs from most any shop that does a lot of heads. Used to get them from Ford. I think you can use a 5/8" bolt too.
