So, the springs and shocks came in:But, the trick was going to be, how to make an upper spring perch? I had planned to used this coil spring bucket (from Speedway Motors), which featured beaucoups adjustability:And slicing a section of it out, so that it would snug up against the (unfortunately) very curved frame rail: Great idea, right? Unless ... you consider that now the wheel/tire will not go on!Let me tell you, cutting that thing back off there was a bitch. It's the last thing I did on the car in 2007.

So, I needed a new plan for the upper spring perch. This kind (also from Speedway Motors) is smaller, because it doesn't surround the spring. It adjusts with a threaded collar:I cut some square tubing to support it at the free end:Installing the spring:Success! I have a bit more than 2" clearance to the tire now:The only thing is that this spring (275 lbs/in) is way too soft. 2003 Cobra springs were 600 pounds per inch. New springs are on order, once again from Speedway Motors.

It's looking great. Have you takin it out for a spin yet? No, that won't happen for a while. I need to still do the other side spring perch, both upper shock mounts, take the IRS out for final welding and inner-fender trimming ... re-install the gas tank, get a driveshaft made ... a bunch of stuff. Most likely, I'll end up installing the CMJ front end before I drive it, and the hydroboost brakes.

Now you need a 03-04 cobra motor up front.
Those are the best year cobra's IMO. They want an arm and leg for them in this area.

Sweet! How much does the shock angle change from minimum to maximum spring travel?

Sweet! How much does the shock angle change from minimum to maximum spring travel? I haven't measured it, but not a lot.

is it the video or does the rear seem a lil bit too springy? That was with the shocks removed. I still need to get the proper lower shock bolt before I can install them.
