I removed the old belt driven fan to free up some HP and help the fuel mileage. I replaced it with a 12" Spal electric fan with an adjustable temp control. I can feel the difference in the seat of my pants. I had to remove the trans cooler to mount the fan, I'll leave it out until I move into the new house and have the time to fab up a new mounting spot. I also ditched the old 42amp alternator for a 3G 130amp unit with an external regulator from a 94 Taurus. I used a v-groove pulley from a 4 banger Tempo alternator, I had it machined to suit the 3G by my local engine machinist dude. Left to do: Mount the trans cooler, replace the t-stat (running very cool - must be stuck open) and replace the friggin heat core....AGAIN!!!.....I bought it new about 3 or 4 years ago, I've had to remove and solder it twice already and it's leaking again so it's time for a new one. I'm friggin tired of fixing that one. I took the old beast out for a burn this afternoon, a definite improvement in the HP department with the power robbing fan gone and a more constant charge rate. Next winter's mods: Ported/planed 70 351W heads with 1.6 roller rockers - ARP studs and guideplates, E-303 cam swap, stealth intake, custom built C4/C5 tranny and a looser converter....and maybe another dyno run. ;D

Just got the center back in the 9" and bolted up. Added a bracket to engage the pinion snubber so that should finish off the traction control things until I get sticky tires.

Whiner
The pinion snubber really works. Had a hell of a time doing a burnout tonight. It just wants to leave.

Ya see, I don't have that problem - I just go up in smoke. Not too many burnouts here anymore, can't afford to be buying tires when I have 3 vehicles on the road....LOL
