Also the diagram is great how about some more detailed instructions on steps like what you cut out and what you kept and what you would have done different thanks for all the info.

could you have gone with a shorter pipe? Still 5 inches round but maybe not three inches tall?

Allshow,
As for what I cut out,... nothing. I took out the sheetmetal that goes around the spring and has the bump stop on it. So no bump stop at this time. the upper spring hat in the diagrams I drew is the stock part off of the top of the springs. I used that to retain the bolt-in effect. Basically taking the airsprings out is the same now as taking the old springs out, jack up the car, unbolt the top and remove spring. The additions come where i mounted the new shocks. F-150 (70's) shock towers and the fabbed bracket below that bolts onto the lower control arm. I could have used a shorter piece of pipe which would have meant that I needed more air in the spring to put it where I want it. More air means a stiffer spring and a more solid ride. I like where it is; sits where I want and is a little squishy at 45psi. At 65psi it is stiffer and corners tighter, but is also tighter. I think I can find a happy medium by using the front sway bars that Meteorgirl used. I just had it aligned and they told me that it wasnt too far out. So lowering it didnt really do much to the geometry of the suspension. I am very happy with it. Let me know what other details you would like to see.

Allshow,
i still love it. No problems. The back is on hold. I have 1 1/2" blocks and new shocks and that is pretty good for now. I would like to do a 4 bar with bags, when I do it.
Oldschoolen1,
how big of a kit are you looking for? I can price it out for you if you are really interested. The bugger is finding the spring hats and the shock towers. I would have to get your spring hats in exchange, like W2 mentioned earlier.

would be interested in a kit as well basher. What do you mean how big of a kit? I want the lowest and best ride? Actually i really only want the drop for at car shows so just to be able to lay frame on the grass and get it as low as possible with out totally hacking the ride.

allshow
By "how big of a kit" I mean how complete do you want it?
I will put some pricing together on this stuff. I will bid it for fabbing the brackets, supplying the shocks and bags, and enough air-line to do it the way that I did it. If you want me to source the dash controls and air-compressor, you are more than welcome to pay a mark-up to me, but I would just be finding a kit out of the AirRide catalog. You dont need to pay me to do that.

well basher i finally did it. the old merc is now bagged in the front and i love the look. I am having a few problems with rubbing though so i need to re evaluate the brackets and at full decompression the lower portion of the bag rolls over the bottom bracket. But other than that Was a piece of cake. workin on the back bags now. trying to design a four link bar or someting of that nature.
