the prices always seem to be higher if someone pulls a part = i guess because it saves the trouble of doin it yourself and you can't always find the part your lookin for. heck i got a 5.0 roller for a hunerd bucks but i wouldn't sell it for less than 300 = cause it was a pain in the butt to get it out ;D

Bunch more reading. Going to try the 1.7 roller rockers. Ordered the ones with the full needle brg pivots also. Those and some new pushrods to go with the guide plates and we'll see what happens. I'll end up with .476 intake and .502 exhaust lift.

As far as shortening, how do you know wat length to shorten in to and what length axles are needed. Also- are there driveshaft mods needed ( wouldnt see why) Are there spring perches that will accomidate stock springs on his 8.8? finally, ca you said that they run 80 to 90 at a yard around here, what makes his for 110 more better? might it need rebuild. Dan, you need to check this site out: members.boardhost.com/MustangSteve/index.html?1143581434Do a search and you'll find a very detailed install of an 8.8 from an Explorer into an early 'Stang. Interesting reading. Jay

It won't be for a while. I haven't even tore down the engine yet. Doing things slowly since the Merc is drivable. i will change out both axles to remove the ABS ring and use two axles from either a Ranger or an Explorer, which are shorter than the Lincoln's. Will keep the disk brakes, but will need to swap from side to side the calipers. I will also swap the 3.27 gear for a 3.73 which I already have. But for now, I'll be working on the engine slowly in the garage.

hmmm... The 8.8 is looking like a good plan to me now.
is it a must to remove the ABS b/c if you didnt you would have no ABS front brakes with ABS rears?

Dan, I got my info for the Lincoln Mk7 rear from this site: svo73mm.cjb.net/All the info is here. The Lincoln rear is like 2" wider because of the ABS ring in the axles. This is why they need to be replaced. The standard 'Stang 8.8 is just a little wider than the Merc's 8". Jay
