due to budget constraints I was plaining on reusing my old roller lifters....plut I want the low end power to pull real hard....i want it strong off the line, so wouldnt bleeding the cam off at lower rpms hurt my off the line?

The bleed off at low rpms will increase the intake charge velocity past the valve since you won't have as high a valve lift. Big valves, big lift, @ low rpm= a dog off the line.
Your stock lift cam with less overlap pulls like crazy until it runs out of air. Big cam with lots of overlap is really efficient at high rpms and makes good use of a lot of air but sucks poorly at low rpm so the Rhoades lifters are a poor man's variable valve timing.

SOmetimes when you got to rockers over 1.6 you have to start running valave push rod guides.
I have P-40 heads on the 260, 3/8 screw in studs, with 510 lift cam and roller 1.6 rockers (stainless steel in a larger fulcrum., standard tappets. Dual oil valve springs, gets flat after 5700 rpm.
Rhoades lifters are a good choice

i chose the Trickflow that Stu had up after about 3 or 4 days of reading a bunch of info on the net. if you do enough searches you can come up with a load of info. the Trickflow had the best numbers without doin work on the pistons or having to buy 1.7 rockers which would have resulted in me not bein able to run the rocker covers i wanted to= the "POWERED BY FORD" stock aluminum ones. plus i read some guys were happy with the gas mileage they were gittin and real good power increase to go with it.
when it comes to the Rhoades lifters it's all about matter of opinion- some guys love'em and some guys hate'em and very few are in between. you need to understand valve trains a little more than you do before you get serious about them. do some searches, theres lots of info out there from people that have used them. i'm still not convinced that they all bleed at the same rate plus they take away the rump rump sound at idle

I am actually deciding to run a B303 with 1.7s.... if your willing to keep the springs around a little longer may be interested in those beause it is the same max list as the TF stage1

That combination does give a most pleasing idle.

so I hear. Should pull pretty hard with the port work ive been doing and the oversized vavles. Will be using the RPM airgap and the comp cams pro magnum full steel rollers. Ill post pics and description when the parts are bought and the thing starts going together
