what is everybody workin on right now, like your Meteor/parts or another project? i'm cleaning up the runners of the Street Dominator manifold that i got at the wreckers for cheap. it's pretty bad as far as casting flash and extra aluminum in the runners. i think quality control was off that day. i'm also doin a little work on the E7 heads but just cleaning and smoothing the ports and bowls cause i intend to find a set 70 351 heads and use those later. on the Meteor i'm cleanin/measurin/thinkin about how i'd like to mount the rack.
so with the weather bein so good you guys must be doin sumpthin!

We are over here building a big bad DANA 60 for my meteor. We have to narrow it first. I'm wanting to POR-15 the entire housing but not sure might just rattle can it. Going to put a detroit locker in it. 4.10 gears. Strange 35 spline axles. Going with 1350 yoke and aluminum drive shaft with a loop.
Trans has to come out and looked at.
going to get me one of them fancy chrome rearend covers for it.

hey CA the head guru that is helping says that the E7s are better than the 70 351's. I had a pair. The port shape on the E7s is better but if your not doing oversized valves in the E7s, than the 70 351's may be better. If you are going all out on the heads, the E7s will have a better end result but if you are doing mild work than the 70 351's may be better.
I am staring the 5.0. Only need distrubutor and front cover, everything else is bought. hoping end of mid july at latest.

I HAD SOME WINDSOR HEADS BEFORE. THEY WERE SHAVED A LITTLE PORT WORK. THEY WERE A LITLE BETTER THAN 13 TO 1 COMP. SO I HAD TO RUN A LITTLE RACE GAS WITH THOSE HEADS. THESE HEADS ARE A LITTLE LESS COMP SO I CAN GET BY WITH JUST PREM GAS, THESE ARE AFR 185'S SHOULD BE RIGHT AROUND 400 H.P. NOW.

I should be working on the Fairlane but have been helping a friend with his ebay store. He went to the VA for a dental appt and the doc freaked and took him to oncology ASAP. Cancer under the tongue. I drive him up and back for his radiation every day except Thursdau when he stays all day for chemo and his daughter brings him back. I get a lot of swag and gas money and it keeps me away from my refrigerator. I have been getting a J-40 Toyota Land Cruiser together so he can sell it. Clutch was buggered to the max and the wiring is a nightmare. Friggin relays everywhere and no organization whatsoever. Could they have run one wire to a buss and then branch off...................hell no! I am making up a ten lead hot buss for the positive so you can find the d**ned battery. Then I'll put all the relays in a row and ground them all to their individual fasteners. I expect to have a lot of leftover wire. He bought it for 2500 or so and got offers of 3800 before he could get it on the trailer. It's stock running gear with a new 350 Chebby in there. Lots of pretty parts to reinstall correctly too. It pulls the front wheels a little when you stab it if it doesn't go up in smoke.

I'm getting ready to flush the Meteor coolant, in preparation to finish the install of new Vintage Air H/AC/D system. Will replace all hoses, so want everything clean for the new heater core. Had a minor medical setback early this week, and have a side effect issue to overcome, so hope to get the flush completed over this weekend. Supposed to be clear/in the hi 70's/low 80's, so weather is right. After the flush, the charging of the AC with R-134A will be next, and the plan is to drive the Meteor in a 2 day/600 mile cruise with the Nebraska Rod and Custom Association on the 31st/1st. Then, I'm going to concentrate on my 65 Falcon Ranchero - install a new aluminum radiator, and regular maintenance to get it ready for the Falcon Nationals in Springfield, MO in July. The end of June is the High School Alumni celebration that is held every third year. There were 14 in my class (1955), and it was one of the larger classes. Woefully, this could be the last celebration - the last class to graduate was 1967, and up until 2005, the school was used for K-8. The state chose to close all of those schools, so communities are consolidated to K-12 schools, and the school building was sold to a private individual. Tours of the old school were one of the major features of the Alumni celebrations, and with the price of travel these days, the future celebrations look to be pretty grim. Of course, the age of surviving grads adds to the decline of the celebrations. I hope to have both of my cars in the parade planned, as well as in the July 4th parade.

On my son Eliot's car, I am trying to sort out the brackets for the power steering pump. I think I'm close. I need to be fabricating and welding in spring perches for the IRS, but I haven't got around to that. Instead, I did something easy today. I installed the shift ball (seafoam green with purple flames) that matches the interior of my '62 ... it has a little light bulb that goes inside the ball to make the purple flames light up at night, but I haven't wired that yet.
