I wrapped up the Vintage Air install today, and my Merc is "back home" in it's own garage! I overcame a couple of obstacles - one of the flasher wires got disconnected when I mounted the dash after changing the CVR, so I had to pull the dash again to reconnect the wire to the flasher. Had an air lock when I refilled the coolant, and it puked on me when the air lock let go. Also, the electric fan was a problem, so I'm back to the original fan, and all seems to be A-OK now. AC is charged and working great, as is the heater/defroster. I also replaced the valve covers with Summit "FORD RACING" cast aluminums, and added a K&N push-in breather, and removed the 260 oil filler tube and inserted a freeze plug, so maybe I can reduce the blowby that has saturated the engine with oil. Now I need to do some cleanup, and it should be ready for the 600 mile tour next weekend. I may be looking for a fan shroud, depending on the performance next weekend. My friend's 67 Fairlane CV is giving him a problem, so he may drive one of my cars next weekend, if we can't solve his problems.

I have been working on the house and tinkering with the interior of my 56 Dodge P/U. I built a cool center console with a motorized trap door that reveals my stereo. I have to find some chrome trim for the edges, but I got it all upholstered last night and it looks great. On the house I had to trim out the bedroom and build a handrail for my deck. I built it out of steel tubing and the panels between the uprights were inspired by the Lincoln emblems off my 65 Continental, so i guess that's Ford related!!! My 5yr old nephews name is Lincoln, so I tell him that I think of him every time I am out there. He thinks that's cool. W2 - Send me some specs on that FJ40. If it is nice you can get more than that for it. I have a Seattle Cruiserheads meeting tonight to BS over Landcruisers. I have had 3 FJ60's, the latest one is begging for the GT 5.0 in the garage (if I could find a 5-speed tranny to work) Check out the website at www.seattlecruiserheads.com, there may be someone in the group that wants it. Sorry guys, I didnt mean to hi-jack the tread with toyotas, but I lost W2's email address.

Y'all making me feel bad here. I have not had time to work in the Merc. We opened a new taxidermy studio in Flippin AR. rented a building straight across from the only exit from Wal Mart. Since then we have been busting our A$$ keeping the fish work caught up, both replicas and skin mounts. With tall the water this year we thought fish would be a bit slow but have been pleasently suprised.
Also have been workign horses trying to get rid of some, we have trained and sold seven horses in three months, with the price of feed going up we decided to sell as many as we could and they sell well when trained. We have done pretty good considering the poor horse market, good training goes a long way.
So the Merc has taken a back seat. Had hope to make the Power tour but missed it. My cousin built a sharp F-5 Cobra and used a 427 center oiler I sold him, he had a problem with to many rpm and scattered it ont he 4 lane, so he upped the anty a bit and bought a Aluminum black and even got the C5 casting number put on it. Worst part is he want to Kieth Craft racing engines to pick it up and I was to busy to make the trip, yea talk about wishing!!! I sure wish I could have made the trip with him on the packagepickup.
Anyway the Merc sits where it was last fall have not even started it. Maybe this week. or next. John

well, GREAT job Dan ;D BUT we wanna see the results on a time slip from the drags!!!
and the word "oversize" does not mean anything! you need to say exactly what size the valves are, like 2.02 and 1.75 or........ whatever SIZE they are ;D
oh yeah, and no water this time = YAHOO
