Wow!! Great stuff here.
I'm new 2 this Absolutly fan-frikin-tastic forum.
I just started to fit fenders and trying to figure out why my starter seems to be a dead short!!! Took it apart and it looks good. Could be a mouse chewed wire have to check.

Been dead here for a while! Just installed the new, improved flexalite Varible speed controller to run my Mark V111 electric fan install the old flexalite couldn;t handle the inital spike on fire up & would blow a fuse, but, only when it was hot & we were 100 miles from home! The new flexalite VS controller has a "soft start" feature , when the motor (Stefko Racing -347 - 454/410) gets to the temp you set, in my case 190 degrees, fan comes on at about 40% & will ramp up to 100% as required. Sitting in the driveway, idling for approx 45 minutes, the fan only went to about 80% once. And, the controller knob, on the old VSC, had very indefinate stops, so it was easy to break it, the new one has a much better temp. set knob. All in all, a pretty cool Varible speed controller to run either the Taurus or Lincoln fan. We got the bugs worked out on the Fatman Coil over set up . thanks to Ridetech

Haven't done squat to the Fairlane lately. Garage/shop is packed to the gills with furniture and such. We're building a new house and living in a condominimum four blocks away. Consequently, I have to run an extension cord to open the garage door and provide anything more than sunlight. I can barely squeeze the car in there and back in until the rear view mirror is just short of the valve grinder with zero clearance on the driver side. Then squeeze myself out the passenger side. Did do some carb tuning a couple weeks ago that vastly improved the launch.

Check with Sanderson Headers, seems they have just about any combination of motor and body apps for their headers. They even claim to have 351 in Meteor with standard trans or aod trans headers.

OOps! Sanderson is walking some of their claims back for the moment. Got to hand it to them, they will at least communicate with people about their apps.

Couple of guys over at Fairlane club are in the same boat, they bought or have ordered the Sandersons & now the company has gone from Yes, they will fit a 351 into a F;lane to, we think they will, like maybe, u may need to dimple a tube or 2. I know a friend ended up using stock manifolds on his 351,which are a real cork in the system

So, then we are back to taking 6134's and modifying a couple of tubes or building our own. Still, the price of admission is way less expensive with Sanderson from the start.

its more work to use stock manifolds, you my cut the lower shock tower rear corner off the fab a new corner, its just not worth it.if your gona even think about that buy a kit from crites and spend a couple of weekends cutting and welding.then your engine compartment will accept just about anything.w20 can you go to my face book and scrool down the wall find my engine compartment with 351 windsor and post picts here?look me up pete celata

I called Sanderson Header and they would only tell me that the ff6 blockhugger header would fit cars that are similar to the Meteor. I believe the Meteor is the same engine compartment as the 62-65 fairlane right? They also wount give me a definite on a 302 and my fmx auto transmission. I wonder if using the aod header will yield any more room. I like the hipo manifolds, but tubular bolt ons would be nicer. I wonder if the bell housing is the same size on the fmx as the C4?

i dont believe that those block hugger headers will fit. the tightest area would be right in the middle cylinders going down thats why the 6134 headers go upward then down. 6134s need modifying on number 1 cylinder and 5 cylinder.they had to be cut shorter and brought closer to the block.also the steering box hits another tube that i had to bend in.you can call me 949-310-1010 im in california pacific standard time. pete
