Stu, sounds like your dad n law has quite some interest in rodding. Everyone of us knows someone who's been through it, it seems. You def need to video that ride. My dad passed 13 years ago from gall bladder cancer. Seems like yesterday. Anyway, the headers are beauty, very nice work. Lots of folks on here with great talents.

He's home from the hospital now and eagerly watching the progress. ....I changed the oil in his 2010 Mustang GT tonight -that thing works really good too. I have the exhaust fit back to the muffer's - not going to bad so far but making the tail-pipes fit could be a little interesting. ...Patience is key. If I have my way we should be setting the engine in place in less than 2 weeks for a shake down run....It makes more sense to waste a little time and some gaskets to test everything out before we go and paint everything all pretty again.....I feel a trip to the rev limiter in my near future. ;D

A friend did a Tbolt clone a few years ago. Everything was immaculate. The engine builder did a run in on the 427, and it went in the car. We did the brakes and a few things. He drove it up and down the street a few times and the engine had to come out because of a clearance issue. It def makes sence to do a couple dry fits before finishing the cosmetics. There were about 4 things I can think of to tell it apart from a real Bolt. The radiator was bigger, so it could be driven. Had rotors on the front. Had an alternator, and 15" wheels. Oh, and real bumpers. The rest was correct. Rear window regulater delete, radio delete, no floor insulation, correct rebuilt rotunda tach, van seats, 100# battery in trunk...

I'm still rolling the t-bolt bubble idea around, I may need it for hood clearance on the air cleaner.

I to may need the bubble for clearance, haven;t really looked but i assume Crities has just the bubble to graft on a stock hood? Thought about doin a cowl, but to Chebby looking maybe. I;ve actually only seen one bubble hood F'lane & it was just so high, didn;t really like the look, have to look around, maybe you can cut them down some. Saw a really nice hood scoop on an Explorer of all things, at the wrecker, was told originally a Ford item, it was bolted on , of course i waited to long & they crushed the Explorer. It was just a low, backward squarish hood scoop, just right height for look i wanted, i'm sure i;ve seen the type on , maybe 70;s stangs.

I like the bubble because there isn't any other factory scoop even close to the Ford t-bolt. If I need clearance then that's what I will graft to my hood. I would prefer to keep my sleeper status as it is now that there is going to be 350+HP under the hood....Suckers won't know what hit them.

with the RPM Airgap, Holley Ultra (the EFI unit is actually a bit lower, but that comes after motor breakin) & a 6" air cleaner, it looks like i need a bubble, i'm wondering if you can trim em. I'd like it a little lower than the ones i;ve seen, little more suttle. If it does clear, i may just do some louvers, like 6 per side, small to bigger, just to get some hot air outa there. My underhood bracing was trimmed, years ago but, i could never locate a shop that does louvers, still haven;t found one. I know what you mean about the stealth look Stu, plain little Merc. until you hit the go pedal!

That's the great thing about the 260. I can keep the original hood on, and other than being 200 horses short of yours, it's awsome!

The teardrop is available from Crites but there are others out there too like Summit Racing. Just be sure to install it with epoxy since that won't be as likely to shrink away from the steel hood. Wonder if anyone makes a steel teardrop scoop?

I don't want a tear drop unless I absolutely need it. I like the plain jain look with an angry ticker under the hood. I have a tear drop here that I was given but I believe it's for a Galaxie as it's about 41" x 33".

Nice surprise! If i use a 4" high air cleaner i can use my stock hood And, with the Pro. Products EFI unit, if i ever decide to istall it, i have even more clearance as its about 1" lower than the Holley Ultra so, i'm going to do louvers, near rear lip of hood, off to each side 6/side from 2" to 8" to let hot air out, we drew em on the hood & it looks very cool too, now, if i can just find a place that does louvers

The poly bushings are here and the shackle bushings fit the front end of the leafs perfectly...Still need to finish a couple things off to the axle and u-bolt plate before I put them in for good....I will take a pic of the fuse panels tomorrow and post them here.

Thunderbolts didn't have an overheating problem. They had Galaxie radiators.
