cause i can't find it!!!!!!!!!!!!! i thought you had the 3rd gen engine in that car. how's this from Wiki ? Second Generation
The second generation was produced from 1952 through 1964.
[edit] 215
A completely new OHV six was offered for the 1952 F-series. It displaced 215 cu in (3.5 L) and produced 101 hp (75 kW). It was also used in the 1952 Ford full-size cars.
[edit] 223
The 215 grew to 223 cu in (3.7 L) for the 1954 F-series. Output was now 115 hp (86 kW) (as the "Mileage Maker" in the trucks) and 120 hp (89 kW) in the 1955 Ford cars. Power was up to 137 hp (102 kW) in the 1956 trucks.
[edit] 262
A 262 cu in (4.3 L) version was also produced. The 262 was built from 1961-64 for use in Heavy Duty Ford Trucks. This engine was also used for industrial applications.

Does anyone know how the 300-6 is?

300 is a tuff motor, five main journals. Long storke it can be a torque monster. Ford made this motor into the mid 1990's. Most cam amn. have acams for it, Clifford makes intakes and headers. William campained a 300 6 in the A/Altered Alchy, back in the NHRA classes into the 8's around the 1980s I think. Anyway its a tuff motor due to the journals. in 2000 I had one in a 95 F-150 4X4 and it would pull the 4horse slant trailer G/N around the Ozarks with any stock diesel. Like I said stump puller!!! My son ran one to 300,000 in a F-150 the truck was wornout but the motor was still strong. Cam is gear driven!!!

I know they are tuff i work for a company with one in a 76 f250 and the other day the motor mounts broke and the engine fell along with the tranny while pullin a 18 ft car trailer loaded with hay for a hay this coming week end the motor was given to me and it has over 400,000 miles on it and the only thing that was ever done to it was the basic tuning on the motor.
I had a buddy with a 79 gmc with a 250 straight six and it didn't last 125000 mile for he had to rebuided it. That shows how good the ford 300-6 is.

Oops I thought it had five. oh well. I had a 66 Mustang with a 200, did a lot of work to the motor and found back in 1975 Ford offered several parts. longer push rods, a huge carb for a forklift motor and some other things, got a cam I think from Clifford, and man would that Mustang haul. ran 1/8th mile with it and did great. it also had a posi rearend. The day I married my first wife I was watching the the 4X4s hill climb, I made the bet I ccould climb that red clay hill, I did on the 2nd try almost did it on the 1st, just could not break over the top, more speed on the bottom of the course and it was easy. That 200 is a tough motor. Has anyone measure their engine bay to see if the 429 Boss will fit? ??

Jeep also makes a tuff straight six. I have a cherokee with a 4.0 straight six and the only thing cone to it was two water pumps within a month of each other and a head set. The water pumps fins were eat completely off of them because of the water i was using now i only use bottled water in my cars.

I've had a long line of the 4.0 Jeeps. They are pretty tough engines all right.
