hey everyone,
i was wondering if anyone has installed the VERY PRICEY rare-parts front control arm bushing that eliminates the small spring at the end of each control arm. (cost 256 bucks a pair)
those bushing were the only ones i didnt replace but the guys on facebook meteor appreciation page have done it and yep, the spring gets eliminated. mine has definatly not been replaced before.
i heard you will feel a huge difference.
anyone used this or have an opinion? thanks!

Took the anti harsh spring set up out of mine with the bushing and I regret doing it. The ride is rough or harsh now. If I can find the whole set up of the anti harsh system I would reinstall it.

I can't imagine why posters do not post their location. I know of 2 complete front ends in My - Central California - location probablly both cheap. I gave a 62 meteor to a friend,& a 63 Meteor to another, both 4 door parts cars missing many parts but still rollable with original front ends. One, Sal's phone is 209 - 736 - 8010 the other I just see occasionally. I still have a 63 Fairlane which is what many Meteor owners swap with their Meteor front end. Good luck, & posting your general location can ONLY be a good thing. I don't know if either friend would ship - may be. I give/sell cheap my parts but only to those close enough to come do the labor.

There is a thread on how one of our posters changed his out= AT THE LINK BELOW THIS POST. There are a couple of things you can do in this area of the suspension. If your parts are in good shape, maybe fit a rubber bushing of some type in there for comfort rather than nylon, polyurethane/etc. You can find a good source of quality rubber in motor mounts of various vehicles. I used some motor mounts from a '60s era Chevy pickup, and fabbed up some suspension bushings on one of my rides years back. Could adapt a strut rod or???= I "think" the Fairlanes of '62/63 used rods in that area, make an easy swap. Look around the "net" for some ideas or just rebuild. If you replace it, be sure to let Arie know as he is looking for one. Back to the link..... 6263meteor.proboards.com/thread/74/custom-anti-harsh-removal

thanks everyone! alot to think about an d thanks ca for the great link. probably beyond my skill set but i want to give myself some more time to look at it. Arie, if i get rid of mine, i will let you know. Doesn't really require THAT MUCH skill. The link was to minimandan's project on his '62. He was learning as you go and had almost zero experience between he and his dad. There is hundreds of years of know how on this board, but they are a quiet bunch. BUTTTT everyone around here is always willing to help if you can get their attention. I intend to replace my anti-harsh one of these days= have just been too lazy up to this point. Just dig in and lets get started on yours
