To answer your question there will be a Meteor option available here soon I just need a volenteer to send me a front mount. John, I'll be ordering a Stage II soon, and I've taken one of the Meteor front mounts off already (did you get the pictures I sent?). Would I need to send both mounts or just one? -- Paul Erlandson Royal Oak, Michigan

Have you talked to Paul, the guy who owns that gorgeous red, F;lane that CMJ used for testing their fr. end set up? If i remember correctly, he stated that he might switch to a different bushing, little harsh for him, loves it though.

Paul;s a Great guy, sent me alott of pics of his F;lane & driving comments Nothing realy negative, but,You should talk to him, first. did you see Steve;s front strut set up? He;s posted some pics at Fairlaner. Steve bought my Lentech AOD for his F;lane, so we talk, pretty talented guy. I just watch in envy guys who build strut front ends & install IRS rears! When I first started to look at the strut conversion for my Meteor, I saw cmjperformance.com but didn't know that the stuff they had was for us. Their website talks about some performance stuff for Camaros, and the page that has the suspension kits for sale, where does it even mention what kind of car it fits? and it lists kits start at 1995. I decided to go with the strut kit from Fatman, I've dealt with them before with Mustang II kits ( the most recent one I installed is on my 54 Chevy wagon) and I like the way it ties the front together and allows a lot of room for a front sump by using a rear-steer. I'll post some pictures as I do the install.

Gemini - at CMJ site go into customer cars & look at Pauls red F;lane, you can see the front strut parts, install If you contact CMJ they will e-mail you a flyer with all the bits & pieces, costs for various kits & components. They have a rear steer rack set up now too, i believe. Be patient though, they;re really, really busy with they;re Hemi division. Seems they;re getting cars from all over the country, Only ever done the back & forth with John, who seems like a really great & guy

I have ordered and paid for a stage 2 at/around the end of January. I wish I didn't have to wait so long, once I bit the bullet and ordered it I was hoping to get it sooner, I don't have all that much money so this is a big purchase for me. I've had the car for 17 years so I guess I can wait.

He went and bought a '63 Meteor to test the parts on. Prior to that, he was using a '64 Fairlane front clip. I'm glad that the parts will have been tested on a Meteor before being shipped out to me. It'll save on headaches later, I reckon.

Looks like there is no CMJ front end kit after all.
John told me on the phone Wednesday that the kit had been shipped out by UPS on Tuesday (June 17). But I got no UPS tracking number from CMJ, after numerous attempts.
So, I paid a personal visit to the CMJ shop today and met John. John admitted to me that he had not shipped the kit, and was not ready to do so.
He offered me a refund, which I accepted. I will post up here whether or not that refund ($2700) is forthcoming.
When I get my money back from CMJ, I will be ordering the kit from Fatman Fabrications, which was featured in the current issue of the Fairlaner magazine. It was a great write-up by Bob Mannel, and made the kit seem really great.
Yours truly, Paul Erlandson
