that was w2zero's setup that you saw. i did the Ford style four link on my Capri and i should have done a three link instead but i soon as i get it runnin i'm gonna take out the top links and make it a three.
i bought a Harbor Freight special to do it = the 220 volt mig welder and taught myself to use it(i had'nt welded since 1970). a lil over 200 bucks and now i can make anything very cheap and do it faster than i could order the parts ;D
thats a great deal on the 64

ahh, i was too lazy to scroll up and double check... nice work w2zero
i was lookin at a weld pak on sale for 449 at home depot, my friend picked one up and a set of bottles, it lays down a really nice weld for being under 600. i have thought about the harbor freight special many a time... lol. every time i go there i want to run to the bank and take out a loan right now my car isnt hoppin too bad, it pulls like no other and does nothin but spin the wheels until the shift into 3rd .. I cant believe how hard this thing pulls all the way up to 6200rpm. the best part is, the good heads arent even on it yet...

Even the cheapo Harbor Freight welders can lay down a good bead. It is the guy pulling the trigger that makes it happen. Just watch the duty cycle on the inexpensive ones. Mine is 110V and the duty cycle is like 30%. At max power you shouldn't have to exceed three minutes of welding in ten, which is enough to do just about anything automotive.

so thats whats wrong with my welder actually, it was so easy to weld with i thought i musta been doin sumpthin wrong once i got the power to thickness thing figgered out and then the feed rate i was like WOW i can really do this i remember my shop teacher in high school chuckin my practice projects in a vice and beatin on'em with a sledge till they bent, cracked etc. then he would grade on what the piece did. I got an "A" on my ladder bars = uh he didnt beat on those ;D

problem solved, did this back in january but just now took pictures... new tires are 255/60/15 m/t ET street radials, even with the 4.11 locker setup they GRIP. no more wheel hop, no more wheel spin but a nice SQUAT when the car lauches. I did a few more add ons, went with a holley dp for the extra power and tune-ability, msd 6al, msd coil, and recurved the distributor to 17 degrees initial 40 degrees total advance. My mustang II front suspension came in a few weeks ago, but thats gonna have to wait til I get back from montana in august..

not yet, its nowhere NEAR track legal lol. i have a crack in the oil pan that leaks too bad(dont buy china), a small hole in the firewall that they dont like, it needs an alignment, and my drivers door doesnt open. im not runnin it full on until i get some shoulder straps in it too. realistically id say it'd be anywhere from a mid 13 to a high 12 second car if i could run it. . whats your beast runnin?

Last time I had it to the track she ran a 12.57, that was about 2 years ago.
Since then I went to light wieght piston's and rod's-just a bit higher in compression.
I put a single plane intake.
Electric water pump
850 dbl pumper.
MSD ignition-use to have hei.
So with all the new stuff on there. I don't know yet what she will run. I had to aleast gain a 1/2 second. Electric water pump alone are worth 2 or 3 tenth's. As soon as I take it to the track. Which should be in the near future. I will post my time slip's. Once I put my new front wheels on and have a front alignment and everything checked out I will be ready. My car will pass tech inspection. The only thing I don't have is a driveshaft loop and a helmet.
I'm thinking low 12's hopefully high 11's
Your car should be badas* once you get everything squared away. A high 12 second car is pretty fast.

Joey what brand bars did you end up using. might wanna do this over summer, was thinking sway bar but this not only helps sway but gives the car better traction(hence the name) The merc already spins the tires a for few feet with a my stock engine. looks like a somewhat straightforward upgrade.

I should have a lot of things. Would doing just the bars be a bad idea?
