I have to agree with the breakage of parts after install of a new bar, thats either myth from someone who don't know or they parts were bad to begin with.
I have put several heavyier front and rear bars on cars that never had them or larger ones, many over the years and never had anyone come back with parts breaking.
As for coilovers, I have used them on the Meteor and this car I am not going to do that, reason is its just an attempt to fix a weak problem from worn parts. I am going to have a set of spring built to the ride height I want. The shop has done other springs for me and their price is $250.00 for the set. Yea its more than helper coilovers but I think worth it and also reduces part of the weight on the car.

You can;t see the L bracket to frame from these pics but you get the idea. The L brackets i used are for the 62-65 F;lanes. Fits exactly same with stock 8" as it does with the Moser 8.8" The Galaxie L bracket is same just bigger but, i didn;t need to use em once i put bar under the diff, things just lined up better. I have the long bolts from bar to frame brackets, almost just hand tight. Seems to give me more feel in hard corners ,with them tightened up , the car would give no warning, until tires broke loose. Now, i;m talking very hard cornering here! Tires are new, 2:45/60 R16"

Talked with a friend that races road courses today. He said the urethane pieces are fine, if you are getting oversteer,i.e. rear sliding around, he says you are over driving the tires. i.e. get better tires, drop the rear air pressure, increase the front. 60 series tires may not be short enough. Plus the fact you need a performance tire something with a stiff sidewall. even a set of old tires can have sidewalls that are breaking down. I can tell you I had a 79 (fox bodies) mustang I went from Polyglas to Goodyear Wingfoots that were Aramid belted and sidewalled and those tires would not lay over. This changed the oversteer of the fox body to almost a neutral steer. John I drove my car for the first time with the rear bar and expirienced what you are describing? When you say 60 series tires may not be short enough do you mean that For handeling purposed I may be better off with a 50 series or just go with a high performance 60 series. I will talk with the tire shop when I get it aligned. I am using the polyurethane and may move to rubber end links for the time being.

I too switched to rubber bushings to gain a little more feel, At least now i get a warning before the rear end kicks out Like to find adjustable end links for rear bar, maybe help , not sure but like to try. There is alot more to tuning front/rear sway bar than i thought

Just to clarify,When i say kick out or break loose, i mean in very, very hard cornering i was trying to reach the limit, of cornering ability, Car corners so flat with fr/rear bars, its quite amazing being able to stay with my Z-28. But, when you do reach the limit ,which in my case, is tires breaking loose, your just along for the ride Probalby driver error!

Roy I did that before the sway bars.
Performance tires are areally big help they corner way better than others. Play with tire pressures that can change things up big time too.

Finished the rear sway bar install last night. Eveything fit perfectly right out of the box. I took some pictures and will post later. We did the install over the diff not under as that way the sway bar was on a level plane with the floor boards/rocker panels. Have not driven yet.
