I completely agree. I have said several times I'm sure that in most cases thats what their problems were caused by as mine fit fantastic. Going to a small body starter is also a great help on the pass side but not required.

There is a Fairlaner in CA that has P heads and supercomps. He used some shorty spark plugs and says to forget about changing them later.

well, after gettin about 50 phone calls calls today i got everything off finally and ready for the headers to go in tomorrow morn. anyone remember what the tricks are? i've read most of this thread and i think it's passenger side from the bottom and driver side from the top- right? anyway to get the passenger side in from the top? does the shift linkage go between the driver side tubes?

filler tube on the 2 speed won't let'em fit. had'em in and had to take them out. both went in from the top with no probs cept the filler tube and one of the lines to the RAD had to be tweaked a lil. i may modify the tube and put'em back in.

This mini starter is just the best for fit, sounds like a exotic super car on cranking! Ford Racing - M-11000-B50 supersedes - A51 & it comes with cables to fit. on sale too You do have to be careful hookin up, the new mini;s will act like a generator on start & run on & on I haven;t hooked it up to new motor yet, but instructions show using a standard relay to trigger it

do you mean it sounds like the Plymouth Fury that my folks had in 1970? would this relay do the trick? hey, it's Monday and my fantasy football team won ;D

I;m using a universal relay, like ones for headlights, fans but, the Ford instructions show that solenoid, its on the starter From relay: (these wires come with the A50 mini starter) Starter cable to bat + on solenoid #12 gauge blk. wire to A terminal on solenoid Big black letter warning - Don;t use jumper wire between Bat. terminal & solenoid at starter to avoid running #12 wire!!! Seems the starter will just keep on running after you release the key! I now that Chrylser starter sound you mean!! It actually sounds more like a Ferrari starter

i got my 6134s from summit and spent the day putting them in and out several times, making cuts, and bends.ill finish welding them up and paint them white this coming weekend. they say driver header has to go from bottom up but actually i got it in from top down with 351 windsor. if steering box was removed it would be a easier .my steering linkage is removed including idler arm and im wondering if i will have to modify pipes near idler arm and steering arm?stu if your out there let me know. thanks peter

Header Story: We pulled the old 302 which still ran very strong, just wanted more punch & went with a pro-built 347. With the old motor out we did the RRS shock tower notch, mainly just for some space to be able to change plugs & open up a world of header options & of course, for a 351 based motor in the future. So, the guy who bought my old 302 wanted the Hooker super comps too as he's running a 63 Fairlane, so, i sold the Hookers to him too. I get a phone call from him saying "These Hooker super comps don;t fit" & wants his money back actually insinuating i sold him the wrong headers, rather than argue i gace him his moeny back for the Super comps. I have no use for them. These Hookers are actually only the 4th set built by Hooker & were the first sold in Canada, if that means anything. You don;t want to know what i paid for em new. They are powder coated aluminum gray & i'm asking around $250.00, is that fair price?

Your price is more than fair but the shipping to my dump is prohibitive unless you are visiting in the Vancouver area.

I didn't remove anything when I did my header mods, I chose to work around everything as it would be driven so I know it will clear. I have some minor grinding to do on my heads when I pull the engine again but other than that no clearance issues from what we can see or hear.

stu i did get my headers to fit with minimal cutting on few upper pipes. its just that all my steering linkage is out of car and im a bit confused if you had to rebend or cut pipes at idler arm or steering box arm.i would like to paint them this weekend and install them. i do have a windsor. thanks stu
