it would be a d**n shame if the only thing in there was assembly lube. You can see ATF running down the ring gear.

I watched as the oil was poured in the rearend and the plug put back on. He put 2 or 3 quarts of oil in there It was a black bottle with red writing on it. When the rearend broke I made a big ol mess at the track it pretty much leaked out. We let the car sit for a few minutes to let it all drain. THen as the track people pushed me out of the way I left a oil trial. The oil looked thick. I then got under the car and shoved a towl in the hole so we can get the car back to the pits. A comment another person told me was if the locker wasn't fully lock upon launch it's like a gernade going off at the case. CA yes I'd like to do something about those leafs. But what. I was looking at the car again last night. All the bushings look like crap. The bushings that are at the frame end and the bushings that are at the rearend perches. They all look like crap.

when i asked if anyone else noticed, i was referrin to the post above mine. here's the snubber on mine. you can see how it might have helped start the problem. like maybe load everything up with a lotta torque and then smack it on the stressed point with a hammer. with leafs, it coulda smacked several times(load and unload) and you would never feel it

i guess i shouldn't say hammer cause it is rubber but you can see contact on mine.i do know that it only goes down so far till it becomes very hard. don't know if it's all from spring rap or just the suspension collapsing.

when it comes to what to help with spring wrap, you could use a traction bar to the inside if you don't like the looks of the ones on the outside. you could also just set them up to put on and take off at the track. i hate leafs, always have. they are heavy and they suck, they allow uncontrolled side to side movement and they suck, they wrap when you stab it and they suck, when you hit the brakes hard they wrap the other way and they suck. did i mention they suck?

adjustable snubbers help as a tuning aid at the track. back in the day we made our own. you can get a car thats havin trouble hookin up and give it a lil more space before it hits the snubber and it will bite a lil better. your problem is you got a lotta power and good bite but NO suspension to support it. so the springs wrap and the 3rd member/pinion support slams into that snubber a lil hard. an adjustable could've been brought down closer to ease that slammin effect. you really need some kind of traction bars for now or rear suspension change(4 link, 3 link, truck arm) to help you out.
